One of our favorite collection items here at the museum is about to receive a make-over in preparation for our Andersonians in War exhibit in 2020. We are sending our Sechler & Co. Trailmobile field kitchen, of the WWI era, to have a sympathetic restoration. Questions are often asked about what goes into these decisions, […]

He grew up knowing only hard work and likely received little education as a black youth. Many of us in Anderson […]
Anderson County is the proud home of not one, but two Hall of Fame baseball players. The museum is well organized and informative. Friendly knowledgeable staff and volunteers. Lots of special activities for kids & adults.
I went with my child and his class to the museum. I was quite pleased. I have lived in Anderson all my life and this is exactly how Anderson is. They have a replica of the Anderson County Fairgrounds. I think this museum represents the culture of Anderson from past to present.
went there with my a few friends from my jrotc group with our instructor to kill time before we had to speak at a middle school .. 10/10
The grandkids had the greatest time, very entertaining and informative. Kept the kids entertained for several hours. Will definitely be going back to visit again.
Great place to take the kids on a rainy day and learn about Anderson county and the past. Lots of interesting facts. We will return.
Wonderful event for children, great displays, extremely helpful staff, and very thorough history of the Anderson area. I’m grateful for the preservation of memory and history that happens here and highly recommend it to anyone curious of their surroundings here in the Anderson area. Free admission! Take your kids!
This is a local gem. You should visit and take your family. If you have out of town guest it is a must.
This is a great place to learn about our local history, and our kids really enjoyed the exhibits.
Best museum of its size in the state.
Very clean and very informative. Lots to see and read. I was unable to tour the entire facility within a few hours. I will be back next time I am in the area.
Love that it was free – and the museum was really well done overall. It has some good interactive displays for the kids. Was a great way to learn more about the local area and the southern states in general.
We had never been to the museum until yesterday evening. We are so IMPRESSED! We took the pottery class, which was a lot of fun. I plan to stay tuned in for other activities. Thank you for all you do.
