Military Career of John Jolly with Brent Reidenbach

You may know of Manse Jolly’s exploits in and around Anderson, SC at the end of the Civil War. However, very few people know about the Jolly Family or any of his brothers. John Alexander Jolly was born around 1836 in Anderson, SC. He was the third of seven brothers and the fifth of eleven children. In 1860 John moved to Texas and in 1861 he joined The Milam County Grays which would become Co. G, 5th Texas, Hood’s Texas Brigade. Join us at Anderson County Museum to learn more about John, the Jolly Family and John’s experiences during the Civil War.
