What's here for me?

ACM Preschoolers riding on the Polar Express (Dec. 2011)

ACM Preschoolers learn about education in an authentic one room school house.
The Anderson County Museum has many ways for you to participate. First, we offer a variety of educational programs for all ages. These programs range from lecture format to hands-on to a mixture of both. Our program topics range from antiques to aviation to World War II experiences. Check the rotating notes on our homepage for information on upcoming events for both adults and children.
We strive to be a family-friendly place to be! Each October on the Tuesday before Halloween, we throw our Monster Mash bash. This is a night of fun for elementary aged children and their families. Activities include a costume contest, trunk or treating, a pumpkin decorating contest, and of course lots of goodies to eat and drink. The Museum's gallery is transformed into a spooky cauldron of fun for the night!
In November each year we host Mistletoe Market. This is a unique shopping experience that allows you to support local artisans and craftspeople who sell their hand-made goods at the Museum for this one weekend. Mistletoe Market is the perfect place to find that great, non-commercialized gift for Christmas. We also offer a spring market, Spring Fling. Check the homepage for dates and times.
All events and programs are free and open to the public.
Another way you can get involved at the Anderson County Museum is to become a volunteer! Volunteers are essential to what we accomplish at the Museum. We have different areas to volunteer in including the Information Desk, the Museum Store, Special Events Coordination, and Cataloguing. Whether you can give just few hours, or many hours we would love to have you volunteer with us. You will make a difference in preserving the history of Anderson County .
