Turbines to Textiles
Ever wonder how Anderson acquired the nickname of "The Electric City"? Find out the origins of electricity in Anderson County and the influence it brought to the state of South Carolina. This exhibit also focuses on the relationship between electricity and textiles and just how prominent their existence has been in the community. Visitors will learn about the rich history of textiles and how the once thriving industry impacted the residents of Anderson County. The Anderson County Museum's vivid descriptions and interactive exhibits will provide knowledge, excitement and fun to visitors of all ages!
