Reading and Research Room

The Reading and Research Room (RR) houses some of the Anderson County Museum's (ACM) archival material that can assist visitors in historical research. During its open hours, the RR is staffed by either a knowledgeable, trained volunteer or a Museum employee to assist you in your research needs. Visitors have accessed the RR to find information on genealogy, church history, or an old picture they have been searching for. It is an ideal resource for a high school or college student studying local or regional history.
Currently the RR has 1600 volumes, over 2000 catalogued historic photos, and a collection of city directories dating from 1905 through the 1990s.
The RR is open to the public on Thursdays from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
